MJGR Launches Its Founding Season
Malaysia's junior golfers now have one season-long ranking — built directly with tournament organizers, feeding a December finale with guaranteed entries, prize money, and sponsorship.

Alex Lee and Che Faidh Amsyar lead the Malaysian winners at SportExcel Kinrara Leg 4
Alex Lee Jia Chen won Boys B by nine shots, Che Faidh Amsyar took Boys C, and Raissa Ahmad Zuhaili won Girls B at the SportExcel-Milo-NSC Premier Elite Circuit Leg 4 at Kinrara Golf Club, 31 October to 2 November.
The fourth leg of the SportExcel-Milo-NSC Malaysian Junior Premier Elite Golf Circuit 2026 was played over three rounds of stroke play from 31 October to 2 November at Kinrara Golf Club. A mixed field of Malaysian and international juniors competed in six categories.
Boys
In Boys B, Alex Lee Jia Chen opened with a 68 and finished on 220 (+7), nine shots clear of Raja Muhammad Syakir Raja Mohd Sukry (229). Nor Aalim Hilmi Normazni took third on 231. In Boys C, Che Faidh Amsyar Faizul won with 239 (+26), four ahead of Ahmad Taufeeq Ahmad Thareez (243), with Ammar Hakim Anuar Hafiz third on 250. Boys A went to Japan's Tomoaki Takahashi on 223 (+10), one shot ahead of Ahn Seunghyun (224), with Jaehoon Cheong third on 228.
Girls
Raissa Ahmad Zuhaili won Girls B on 247 (+34), two shots ahead of Ng Voen Xuan (249), with Izz Zayani Mohd Irman third on 256. In Girls A, Choi Yunseo won on 233 (+20) with Khu Yuan Puah second on 249. Liang Yan (Yanice) took Girls C on 239 (+26), 12 shots clear of Hana Miura and Kayla Sj Tan, who tied for second on 251.

Nor Haqeim Hadi and Nur Batrisyia Balqis Win Gross Titles at 50th Kedah Amateur Open
Both MJGR juniors finished on 222 over 54 holes at Kulim Golf Club. Six of the top eight men and the entire top three in the Ladies' Open are juniors in the MJGR ranking.
The 50th Kedah Amateur Open 2026 was played over three rounds of stroke play from 23 to 25 October at Kulim Golf Club in Kedah, hosted by Kulim Golf Club. The open field of 53 players (44 men and 9 ladies) included 22 juniors who are already ranked by MJGR.
Gross titles
Nor Haqeim Hadi (Boys U21) won the Men's Open gross title with a 222 (71-76-75). Irlman Izzad Mustapa Kamal (Boys U21) also posted 222 (72-73-77) and is placed second on the official results sheet, ahead of Tomoaki Takahashi (224) and Muhammad Ajmal Amin Mohd Fajri (225), who finished fourth.
In the Ladies' Open, Nur Batrisyia Balqis Abdul Ghani (Girls U21) won the gross title with a 222 (73-74-75), three shots clear of Nur Fathya Emelyda Azrul Nizan (Girls U15, 225). Raissa Ahmad Zuhaili (Girls U12) was third on 236.
Nett results
Mohd Azlan Mohamad won the Men's Open nett title with 207, followed by Irlman Izzad (210) and Liew Wai Chuan (213). In the Ladies' Open, Nur Ilqa Syasya Shahizul (Girls U15) took nett honours with 211, ahead of Nur Fathya Emelyda (213) and Nur Batrisyia Balqis (216).
What it means for the MJGR ranking
For MJGR the event is a Tier 1 open amateur championship counted on gross score, with positions taken from the official gross results. Only confirmed Malaysian juniors are ranked, so adult and international entrants appear in the event's Full Results on the MJGR Tournaments page, which shows both gross and nett tables, but not in the ranking.

NJDP Grand Final postponed due to haze
The Malaysian Golf Association has postponed the 100PLUS MGA NJDP Junior Series Grand Final, originally set for 27–30 October 2026 at Seri Selangor Golf Club, because of worsening haze in the Klang Valley. New dates will be announced once air quality improves.
In an official announcement, the Malaysian Golf Association (MGA) said it regrets to postpone the 100PLUS MGA National Junior Development Programme (NJDP) Junior Series 2026 – Grand Final. The event was scheduled for 27–30 October 2026 at Seri Selangor Golf Club, Selangor.
MGA cited the worsening haze affecting the Klang Valley and surrounding areas. It has been monitoring the Air Pollutant Index (API) readings reported by the Department of Environment Malaysia, which have consistently shown unhealthy air quality across several locations in Selangor with no clear sign of sustained improvement. MGA decided to postpone the Grand Final to a later date, when air quality conditions have improved enough for the tournament to be held safely. It added that the health, safety and well-being of junior golfers, officials, staff and everyone involved always take precedence over competition.
The revised tournament dates will be announced once the haze situation has improved and the arrangements are finalised. Afham and Raissa Win Ketengah International Junior Golf Masters at Bukit Besi
Muhammad Afham Othman (218, +2) beat Korea's Jaeho Han by two shots for the boys' title, while 12-year-old Raissa Ahmad Zuhaili won Girls B (U15) by 21 shots, in a 67-player field at Bukit Besi Golf Club, Terengganu.
The Ketengah International Junior Golf Masters 2026 was played over three rounds of stroke play from 12 to 14 October at Bukit Besi Golf Club in Terengganu, hosted by KETENGAH and Kelab Golf Bukit Besi. A field of 67 juniors competed across seven divisions, including players from Indonesia, China, Taiwan and South Korea alongside a large Malaysian contingent.
Afham holds off a Korean challenge
The tightest finish came in Boys A (U17). Muhammad Afham Othman opened with a 71, followed it with a 73 to lead by four after 36 holes, and closed with a 74 for a total of 218, two over par. Korea's Jaeho Han shot the best final round of the division, a 72, and finished on 220 (75-73-72), but Afham's early lead was enough to hold on. Muhammad Danial Zafran Khairil Azmi took third on 244. Afham's 218 was the lowest score of any boy in the field.
Raissa wins by 21 at age 12
Raissa Ahmad Zuhaili, just 12 years old, won Girls B (U15) with rounds of 78, 79 and 80 for a 237 (+21), finishing 21 shots clear of Izz Zayani Mohd Irman (258) and 34 clear of third-placed Wan Amira Adilla Wan Suhaimi (271). Her three rounds were separated by only two shots, an impressive level of consistency for a player competing against opponents up to three years older.

NJDP Grand Final moves to Seri Selangor Golf Club
Due to green renovation works at The Mines Resort & Golf Club, the 100PLUS MGA NJDP Junior Series Grand Final will now be held at Seri Selangor Golf Club. The dates are unchanged: 27–30 October 2026.

MGA cancels 100PLUS MGA NJDP 3rd Leg; Grand Final confirmed 27–30 Oct at The Mines
The Malaysian Golf Association has announced that the 3rd Leg of the 100PLUS MGA NJDP Junior Series (Northern Region, 12–15 Oct) will not proceed as scheduled. The Grand Final goes ahead on 27–30 October 2026 at The Mines Resort & Golf Club, and entries are open.
According to MGA's announcement, unexpected changes to school examination schedules in Kedah and Perak affected the availability of Northern Region juniors, so the 3rd Leg has been cancelled. MGA says it will focus on the Grand Final instead.
The Final Leg (Grand Final) of the 100PLUS MGA NJDP Junior Series is confirmed for 27–30 October 2026 (update, 14 Oct: the venue has since moved from The Mines to Seri Selangor Golf Club), and entries are now open through MGA's registration form. Amelia Lee and Jarvis Liew Sweep NJDP Leg 2 at A'Famosa
Amelia Lee (209, -7) and Jarvis Liew Zun Xin (212, -4) took the overall boys' and girls' titles at the second leg of the 100PLUS MGA National Junior Development Program, three rounds at A'Famosa Golf Resort's Rocky/Palm course.
Amelia closed with a third straight round in the 60s (69) to finish 12 shots clear of runner-up Choi Quinn-Cie, while Jarvis — who led comfortably after day two but admitted to pre-final-round nerves — settled into his own pace to hold off Raja Muhammad Syakir Raja Mohd Sukry by 11 shots.

Ammer Aiman and Nur Batrisyia Balqis Crowned SUKIPT 2026 Golf Champions
Universiti Malaya hosted the 7th edition of SUKIPT (Sukan Institusi Pendidikan Tinggi) at Danau Golf Course, with over 6,000 athletes from 65 contingents competing across 30 sports. In golf, Ammer Aiman Bin Mohd Fauzi and Nur Batrisyia Balqis binti Abdul Ghani took the individual titles.
SUKIPT is Malaysia's biennial higher-education games, themed "Mencipta Legasi Juara" (Creating a Champion's Legacy) for this 2026 edition, which ran 28 August–6 September. UPM took the overall games championship with 35 gold medals, but the golf competition — like every SUKIPT sport — draws its own dedicated field of student-athletes from universities and colleges nationwide.

Anthony Lim, Siti Nur Husna Aina Crowned 68th Perak Amateur Open Champions
Anthony Lim Jing Shen and Siti Nur Husna Aina Binti Abd Karim Nast took the Men's and Ladies' Gross titles at Meru Valley Golf & Country Club, earning both champions automatic entry to the 122nd Malaysia Open in Sarawak this December.
Anthony, playing off a handicap of 5, won the Men's Gross with a three-day total of 219, three strokes clear of Hayden Hah Hsien Yang. Siti Nur Husna Aina, a scratch golfer, took the Ladies' Gross on 223, edging Nur Diana Syafiqah Abdullah by two shots. Nabil bin Azali and Hiroka Yamamoto won the Men's and Ladies' Net categories.

Malaysia International Junior Open Reschedules to 4–7 November
The MGA's flagship 54-hole, WAGR-counting junior championship has moved off its original late-August window to 4–7 November at Tanjong Puteri's Straits Course.
The Straits Course at Tanjong Puteri has built a reputation as one of the toughest tests in the region for junior golfers, with a field that regularly draws entrants from across Southeast Asia. The Asia-Pacific Golf Confederation's official listing confirms the new dates of 4–7 November 2026, moved from the previously announced late-August window.
Results from MIJO count toward MJGR's Tier 2 points as an Elite-tier circuit event, on top of whatever value they carry on the World Amateur Golf Ranking.
SUKMA 2026 Golf Doubles as a SEA Games Selection Platform
Host state Selangor's Games run 15–24 August at Glenmarie, with the men's and women's individual and team golf events feeding directly into the long list for Malaysia's 2027 SEA Games squad.
Selangor's turn as host state comes with a sizeable state sports development budget, part of which has gone toward golf facilities and coaching pipelines feeding into its SUKMA squad.
SUKMA results sit outside MJGR's regular tournament calendar, but the Games remain one of the clearest windows into which juniors are being tracked for higher honours by state associations.
108 Junior Golfers From 10 Countries Tee Off at China Hainan Junior International
The 4th Malaysia leg returned to Resorts World Awana, Genting Highlands (13–15 Aug), sanctioned by the Malaysian Golf Association and China Golf Association. Champions and runners-up in each of the four age divisions qualify for October's grand final in Hainan.
This was the fourth year running that Malaysia has hosted a leg of the tournament, co-organized by Genting Malaysia and the Hainan Golf Association alongside the two countries' national golf bodies.
Winners and runners-up in each of the four age divisions earn a start at October's grand final on Hainan Island, where they'll face age-group champions from the other nine participating countries.
Every Result Counts — No Cap on Season Points
MJGR no longer caps how many results count toward a golfer's season total. Every sanctioned finish adds to your points, rewarding golfers who compete as widely as possible.

Removing the cap means consistency across a full season now matters as much as a single standout finish — a change the Ranking Committee felt better reflected genuine year-round form.
Tier 1 Open Events Confirmed for the 2026 Season
The Ranking Committee has finalized which national opens carry Open-tier weight this season, worth 250 base points to the winner (290 for a 4-day event).
Tier 1 status is reserved for genuine open fields — events where juniors compete inside the same draw as adult amateurs — and typically run over a 3- or 4-day format.
A 4-day Tier 1 event carries a higher points ceiling than a 3-day one, reflecting the extra rounds of competition golfers have to get through to win it.
100PLUS and MGA Launch Nationwide Junior Development Series
The new NJDP series runs Central, Northern, and Southern zone legs before a Grand Final, giving young golfers across the country a structured path to compete and be seen.
Rather than a single tournament, NJDP is structured as a full-season pathway — zone qualifiers in the Central, Northern, and Southern regions feeding into a Grand Final later in the year.
MGA has positioned the series as a talent-identification feeder, sitting alongside rather than replacing the existing state-level junior circuits.

Japan's Koshin Nagasaki Wins 5th Selangor International; Malaysia's Aiden Tai Best Local Finisher
115 juniors from 11 countries teed off at Seri Selangor Golf Club for this WAGR-counting championship. South Korea swept both team titles, while 17-year-old Aiden Tai John Robert led the Malaysian charge, finishing tied 4th to earn a start at the PKNS Selangor Masters.
Nagasaki's 13-under-par 203 won him the boys' individual title by five shots, while South Korea's Park Hyorin took the girls' title on even-par 216. Korea's boys' and girls' teams both won by comfortable margins, with Malaysia's own MGA National Junior Development Program squad — Amberly Zaira Binti Zamri, Amelia Lee Jia Xin, Ngo Yi Belle, and Siti Nur Husna Aina Binti Abd Karim Nast — placing 4th in the girls' team event.
